November 16-20

Monday: It’s the start of a new quarter!  This week we have our end of the quarter reward, curling, for those who have turned in all their work.  This morning we took prayer requests, talked briefly about current events, and read about Amon and Josiah.  In language arts, we are working on a pre reading activity to learn more about the Mexican Revolution before starting our next book Esperanza Rising.  Students are examining primary documents to gain an understanding of the events.  The students worked on their next spelling list (list 10: #21-30) with a friend.  We practiced skimming and scanning an informational text (something we struggled with last Friday and needed to review).  Then we partner read in science on the states of matter.  The students used a bloom’s taxonomy cube to answer questions on their reading.

Homework: Spelling homework is due Thursday.  Look for permission slips for Friday’s curling
